Vintage finds by abandoned railway lines
Word to the wise: Head here on a Saturday night and grab a cocktail from one of the makeshift VW bar-vans – it's much more atmospheric than sitting in an indoor bar.
One of the most recent additions to Bangkok's night market scene, Talad Rot Fai is strikingly strewn with disused train cabins. The market became a success practically overnight, helped along by the scores of Chatuchak escapees who flock here weekly to buy or sell their vintage wares.
Located just over a kilometre west of the famed JJ market, Talad Rot Fai's quirky nature has made it one of the official weekend hangouts of vintage-faithful Thai hipsters. Vendors mainly ply antiques, retro toys, and old-school furnishings – but if you're looking for vintage clothing, there's plenty of that around too.
