Al Mamzar Beach Park
A beach with local flavour
Word to the wise: The C28 bus runs between the Salah Al Din metro stop and the beach entrance.
As the name suggests, the man-made Al Mamzar is part surf, and part turf. Spread out over 106-hectares, the space occupies four pristine beaches as well as a large section of manicured lawn, bristling palm trees, winding foot and bike paths, two pools and an amphitheatre for the kiddies. Though Fridays tend to be busy (though what public beach in Dubai isn’t?), most of the time finding a quiet spot to park a towel is a relative breeze.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Dubai if there weren’t VIP options, and at Al Mamzar they come in the form of air-conditioned, rentable chalets. Food options are, admittedly, a bit slim at the park, but the trimmed grass makes for a lovely picnic spot.
