After-work hub for the art set
Noteworthy for: Canny music lovers might have picked up on the fact the bar’s named after a Bob Dylan song; the lyric ‘If dogs run free, then why not we?’ hints at the free-thinking atmosphere.
Tipple of choice: With a selection of beers, spritzes, and spirits on the menu, you don’t have to have a cocktail. But that’s not to say you shouldn’t – they do a good Damascus Sour after all.
Word to the wise: Non-smokers can breathe a sigh of relief, as this is one of the few bars in the city where you can’t light up.
Before opening Miranda (another of our Viennese favourites), Tzou Lubroth Architekten let their imagination run wild kitting out this fresh and fantastical cocktail bar in the 6th district. Grey concrete walls and plain black tables play the sober sidekicks to an incredible origami ceiling in pink, white, and teal, whilst large mirrors behind the bar multiply the space.
It almost feels like the team designed the place purely for themselves – which is sort of the case, considering they eventually ended up co-owning the joint along with an actress, a graphic designer, and a restaurateur. Coincidentally, this could also be the makeup of any given table, since the bar serves as a sort of social club for the creative, be they students, artists, or inquisitive neighbours.
