The people’s music store
Noteworthy for: The Icelandic indie musicians you’re listening to often hang out in the shop.
Bjork. Sigur Ros. Mum. Singapore Sling. The guys at 12 Tónar know Icelandic music backwards and forwards, and carry the most up-to-date collection of Reykjavik’s future stars. The store also runs its own independent record label.
While some of the CDs might seem obscure to the layman, the shop, located in downtown Reykjavik, lets you sit and relax while sampling a few songs, providing free espresso and tea for your sipping and listening pleasure.
